Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program

Mayor's Summer Youth EmploymentThe Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) gives Trenton youth ages 16-21 access to summer employment with a local nonprofit, private business, or city government. SYEP is a partnership with the City of Trenton, Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Millhill Child & Family Development.  Over the past three summers, 300+ Trenton youth have received job placements with over 20 different employers via their enrollment with Millhill or the City of Trenton.

Next Generation Community Leaders

The New Jersey Health Initiatives (NJHI), the statewide grant making program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) awarded Millhill, a Next Generation Community Leaders three-year award to harness the energy, knowledge, and idealism of young people ages 14-21 to prepare them to become future leaders.  Our 2018 co-hort hosted a community wellness festival to help increase awareness of mental health.  This year’s team, with the help of community partners, is developing a civic engagement project to engage participation in and improve a City park.

“With hard work and dedication you can achieve anything.”
