Trenton PEERS
Trenton PEERS (Performing, Educating and Engaging about Responsible Strategies) is a year-round leadership program for Trenton high school students that prepares them to become PEER educators, graduate high school on time and advance to post-secondary education. The program provides peer education, mentoring, and college planning to twenty four students each year. The goal of the program is to empower Trenton PEERS to realize their full potential, graduate from high school on time and pursue post-secondary pathways. Apply here to join Trenton PEERS »
Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program
The Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) gives Trenton youth ages 16-21 access to summer employment with a local nonprofit, private business, or city government. SYEP is a partnership with the City of Trenton, Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Millhill Child & Family Development. Over the past three summers, 300+ Trenton youth have received job placements with over 20 different employers via their enrollment with Millhill or the City of Trenton.
Next Generation Community Leaders
The New Jersey Health Initiatives (NJHI), the statewide grant making program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) awarded Millhill, a Next Generation Community Leaders three-year award to harness the energy, knowledge, and idealism of young people ages 14-21 to prepare them to become future leaders. Our 2018 co-hort hosted a community wellness festival to help increase awareness of mental health. This year’s team, with the help of community partners, is developing a civic engagement project to engage participation in and improve a City park.
