A LOVE FOR LEARNING THAT STARTED AT MILLHILL
Mianna joined the Millhill family in Pre-K, where she faced early challenges in her learning journey. With the steadfast support of Millhill’s teachers and staff, she blossomed, building confidence and a love for learning that paved the way for her academic success. A 2021 study by the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) found that by 10th grade, students from low-income backgrounds who attended high-quality preschools like Millhill continued to thrive, particularly in math, language arts, and literacy—a testament to the lasting impact of these formative years.
As Mianna grew older, Millhill continued to play a pivotal role in her journey. As a teenager, she joined Millhill’s Youth Engagement program, where she developed self-confidence, strengthened her leadership abilities, and prepared for college and career success. Through resume building, interview techniques, and public speaking practice, Mianna gained invaluable skills that will open doors to her future and prepare her to pursue her dreams with purpose and resilience.
Reflecting on Mianna’s transformation, her mother expressed, “My daughter struggled with education early on, but it was because of Millhill’s dedication that she came out ready for what the world had in store for her.” Mianna, too, shares this sentiment: “Millhill is a BIG part of who I am today.” Preschool like Millhill gives the best possible start in life to every child, particularly those who come from a low income community.
