At Millhill, we are passionate about nurturing the love for reading from an early age. That’s why we’re excited to announce our participation in Read Across America, an annual celebration of literacy and Dr. Seuss’s birthday, taking place the week of March 2nd.
We believe that instilling a love for reading in children is crucial, especially during their formative years. That’s why we’re reaching out to our community for support in bringing the magic of Dr. Seuss’s books to each of our preschool children, that’s a total of 105 books. We’re inviting corporate sponsors to join us for a Day of Caring in this endeavor and be a part of something truly special.
During Read Across America week, we’ll be hosting special events where sponsors can come into our classrooms and read Dr. Seuss books with our 4 and 5-year-old students. This interaction not only fosters a joy for reading but also serves as a meaningful way for businesses to engage with the community and make a lasting impact on young minds.
Why is this initiative important? Research has consistently shown that exposure to books and storytelling at a young age significantly contributes to a child’s cognitive development, language skills, and overall academic success. By providing our preschoolers with access to quality literature and meaningful interactions with adults who value reading, we are laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
But we can’t do it alone. We rely on the support of our community to make events like Read Across America possible. Your sponsorship will directly contribute to purchasing Dr. Seuss books for our preschoolers and organizing engaging activities throughout the week.
