Millhill Child & Family Development Harvest Your Health 3rd Annual Health Fair Friday, September 30, 2-6 pm
TRENTON, NJ (September 12, 2016) – Mark your calendars! As part of the Health Literacy Program, Millhill Child & Family Development will be holding its 3rd annual “Harvest Your Health” Health Fair on Friday, September 30 from 2-6pm at 101 Oakland Street in Trenton. The Health Fair, offered in partnership with the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, is an interactive event designed to increase health awareness by providing health screening, activities, educational material and resources for the community.
“Millhill is excited to announce our 3rd Annual Health Fair to continue building a healthier community, provide resources and education, and to empower families to take charge of their health,” explains Nicole Cowan, Health Literacy Coordinator.
Millhill is grateful to Wells Fargo, Bristol Myers Squibb and the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey for their continued support of the Health Literacy program which provides tools and training to help families improve their health. The program aims to reduce health disparities and empowers approximately 1,000 children and families each year to lead healthier lives. Millhill extends a special thank you to the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey for not only supporting the Health Literacy program but also providing the entertainment, DJ, and health screening for the Health Fair.
The Health Fair is free to residents of Mercer County. The afternoon will feature 25 vendors providing information and activities on subjects such as mental and physical health, nutrition, fitness and a plethora of other health related topics. Vendors include Greenwood Farmers Market, Isles, Henry J. Austin Health, Mercer Street Friends, and more. Face painting and activities for children will be available.
Millhill is collecting donations of hygienic items to be distributed during the Fair. New donations of every day essentials can be dropped off at Millhill through September 26. For more information, please contact info@millhillcenter.org.
