The lease has been signed, the parking lot paved, and interior renovations have begun. The long awaited Counseling Center will be opening this winter just down the road at 802 Prospect Street.
The new space will allow the rapidly growing Counseling Services to expand as individual therapy rooms will increase from the current eight rooms to 22. Group therapy, which is held in the shared space of the conference room in Building A, will have five dedicated rooms. There will also be a space set aside for a parenting program, which will allow parents to be more involved in the counseling experience and will be run by both Counseling and Family Support Services.
The new space will provide not only more space but also allow for more psychiatrists, more immediate availability for clients, and the creation of an intensive outpatient program to provide better support for our community.
