Millhill Child & Family Development Receives Trenton Thunder Strikeout Grant
TRENTON, NJ (November 19, 2015) – Millhill Child & Family Development recently received a $7,000 Trenton Thunder Strikeout grant to support its mission of serving children and families. The PNC First Strikeout grant is a partnership with PNC and Trenton Thunder that supports education based nonprofit organizations in the Greater Trenton region.
“We are delighted to receive this year’s Trenton Thunder Strikeout grant to help our children and families improve their quality of life,” explains Cynthia Oberkofler, Millhill executive director. “The grant made an immediate impact by providing funds to improve our playground for preschoolers,” she continued.
Each year PNC and Trenton Thunder select a local educational based nonprofit as the benefactor of the Strikeout grant. During the season, each time a pitcher strikes out the first batter of the game an announcement is made that a donation is going to the Strikeout grant. At the end of the season a check is presented to the selected charity.
PNC employees also support Millhill by participating in volunteer days with employees spending time reading and playing with children. Both PNC and Millhill share a commitment to high-quality early education that prepares children for school and a stronger future. This year, Millhill will honor PNC as the Corporate Honoree during MISSION POSSIBLE, Millhill’s spring fundraiser.
